View interactively how cartesian and polar co-ordinates relate

Polar curves showcase some of the most elegant and visually stunning aspects of mathematics. Unlike Cartesian coordinates, which use (x, y) pairs, polar coordinates define points parametrically using a distance r and an angle θ.

Smith Charts
A collection of smith charts in html

I needed a Smith chart to figure out the imdepence of an antenna and match it to a transmitter on the weekend. It was quicker to generate them and print them out on the home printer than to order then and wait a few weeks.

Duffing Oscillator
For the Smith Charts last week, I had to refer back to some Electronic text books, and also noticed the Op Amp equations. One example was using Op amps were used to model Duffing oscillators. After dealing with nonlinear equations, the choice to move into digital electronics made a lot of sense. The Duffing oscillator is a type of nonlinear system that models a damped, driven oscillator with a nonlinear restoring force.

I found a gif online and decideed to turn it into a html page. Eyecandy, and maybe useful if someone needs a display for a film.
